When it comes to organic grain production, proper combine adjustment and harvest timing can make all the difference in the world. Robert Hall and Tim Christensen will walk through proper adjustment of both rotor- and cylinder-style combines, as well as tips for keeping your machinery clean to prevent cross-crop contamination, finding the right custom operator, and choosing the right equipment. Klaas Martens and another representative from the mill will discuss the specific standards that they use to evaluate grain and simple steps that farmers can follow to get the best price for their product at the mill. Refreshments will be provided.

Lakeview Organic Grain produces over 1400 acres of diverse certified organic grains for the food, feed, and seed markets. Lakeview Organic Grain also mills organic grain for a large number of producers in New York State. Klaas and Mary-Howell Martens have been farming organically since 1993.
