Join NOFA-NY and the management team of Trinder Farm; Tom Trinder (Owner/Operator), Nancy Wood (33-year Herdswoman), and Brian McKallip (Night Manager) to learn about incorporating technology into your organic dairy.  See how Tom has renovated his dairy barn to integrate a robotic milking system. Learn how Trinder Farm’s grazing management has been adjusted to accommodate the needs of robotic milking while optimizing pastures Dry Matter Intake.  Tour Tom’s newly installed windmill and hear how wind energy is part of Tom’s focus on profitable organic management.  Refreshments provided.

Tom Trinder purchased Trinder Farm in 1978 and in 1996 began grazing his herd.  Trinder Farm has been certified organic since 2006 and today is an all hay and grass farm.  The farm is continually improving, first by incorporating liquid manure storage into the farm management and most recently by installing robotic milkers in 2010 and a windmill in 2011.
