Safe harvesting and handling techniques are of utmost importance for leafy greens. Marian and Larry Cross have developed an efficient and safe system for their organic greens, which are the backbone of their business. Join us as we take a look at their harvest techniques, triple-wash system, sanitation procedures, and an ingenious drying system that enables them to bag between 150 and 200 pounds of greens every week. Special attention will be devoted to sanitation, written procedures, and employee training, all of which contribute to Amawalk Farm’s reputation for producing premium organic greens.

Amawalk Farm is an effort of love by Marian and Larry Cross to bring an 1825 farm in northern Westchester County back into production. Marian and Larry grow a wide variety of certified organic vegetables and fruits, including their bagged salad mixes, as well as cut flowers and u-pick raspberries.
