Practical Tools for Small Vegetable Farms
Event Details
Small vegetable farms need to have simple, affordable, and flexible equipment. The field day will demonstrate a multi-functional tractor-mounted tool that has been designed to save labor for family-operated farms. The tool would be commercially available at a cost that would be affordable to most small-scale vegetable farmers in the Northeastern United States. The field day will feature the tool being used for potato harvesting and garlic planting.
Honeyhill Farm is a diversified small family farm in the Finger Lakes Region. Honeyhill produces organic chickens, grassfed beef, garlic and a select set of mixed vegetables including heirloom tomatoes. Honeyhill Farm sells directly to individuals at the farm, at farmer's markets and to quality restaurants.
