The Newell St. Community Garden, of Syracuse, invites you to a potluck conversation at the Beauchamp Library – 2111  South Salina St in Syracuse, 13205.  It begins at 6pm on Feb. 15th.

The title is "Old Roots, New Roots": This event explores the deeper causes of difficulties between new arrivals on the American scene (like Somalis and Bhutanese) and "older" Americans (like African Americans and Native Americans) through sharing their stories of farming and gardening. It will be facilitated by Ms. Cleo Silvers, a longtime activist in community and labor relations who lives in Harlem, NY.   Together participants will address the question:  How can everyone learn to work together?
