Pasture Walk and Organic Dairy Tour

There will be a pasture walk and organic dairy tour on Tuesday, June 28 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Andrew Batdorf Farm (Hollow Brook Dairy), 646 Horningford Road, McVeytown, PA in Mifflin County.  Andrew is the 2010 winner of Pennsylvania Certified Organic’s Sustainable Agriculture Award for his efforts in planning and implementing conservation and energy-saving projects on his farm.  Participants will view the farm’s manure curbing system, solar-powered watering system and rotational pastures as well as learn more about transitioning to organic production and organic certification.
