Moore Farms / Rob & Pam Moore
Certified organic and no-grain since 1996, this seasonal dairy outwinters, mob grazes, and has been raising dairy replacements on cows for 11 years. Cattle are milked in a New Zealand style swing 10 parlor housed in an open-sided greenhouse-style building. The breeding program focuses on bringing New Zealand Friesan, Jersey and polled genetics into the crossbred herd.
Rob began grazing in 1986 with his previous herd of fancy registered Holsteins. He started practicing Holistic Management Planned Grazing in 2006, and will share changes to his pasture and cattle management influenced by HM farmer/educators Abe Collins of Vermont and Ian Mitchell-Innes of South Africa.
