Wyoming County Master Gardeners-7th annual Garden Bounty Celebration.
Event Details
Learn soap making techniques that incorporate: Infusing botanicals straight from your garden, into your freshly homemade soap. This demonstration will immediately follow our hearty salad buffet dinner. True to the harvest season our Garden Bounty dinner will include a full vegetable salad bar of mostly New York grown produce. Salad dressings, fresh baked bread/rolls, deli meats (julienne), cheese/cracker tray, refreshments of fresh apple cider and coffee, will also be included for only $20.00 per person.
Our special guests, Charleen Satkowski of Harper Hill Farm in Darien, New York, will be demonstrating techniques and processes for making and infusing soaps at home. Charleen will be utilizing materials found in the grocery store as well as homegrown botanicals such as herbs and rose hips in her soap making process. We will also have a special demonstration showing us how to make essential oils as well as basic salves and balms. These techniques can then be applied or expanded on at home, to make your own homemade botanically infused soap products.
