Administrative Assistant Needed

 
NOFA-NY Certified Organic, LLC is a private, non-profit organization that conducts third party verification services for organic certification under the United States Department of Agriculture's National Organic Program Standards.

 

The Administrative Assistant reports to the Certification Program Director and the Certification Coordinators and is responsible for assisting in the day to day operation of the organization. 

  • Requirements for the position are:

  • General Office Skills

  • Experience and comfortable answering and directing phone calls with a multi-line system.

  • An excellent working knowledge of computer operating systems used in offices.

  • An excellent working knowledge of Word for Windows word processing.

  • A familiarity with basic data base systems; we use FileMaker Pro 8.5

  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work efficiently in an unsupervised capacity. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Excellent customer service skills.

  • A background or knowledge of organic farming is a plus.

The new hire will work with the Certification Coordinators for training and must be able to work in the Binghamton office.  The position takes about one year to master, so please only dedicated candidates apply.  Health insurance is available along with holidays, vacation and personal/sick time. Salary will be commensurate with experience.
