We coordinate a diverse selection of free and affordable technical assistance resources for farmers throughout the year.
We look to our expert farmer members to design the programming that will best meet your needs in the field, so please contact our Education Director if there are topics with which you need more technical support.
On-Farm Field Days: Our annual Field Day series provides farmers with opportunities to get on-site information from farmers who have excelled in a particular production or marketing system. Visit the full list of upcoming field day events.
Conferences: Our annual conferences create opportunities to network and focus on your professional development. Workshops span all sectors of NYS organic agriculture as well as include gardening and consumer workshops to bring our whole organic community to the same table. Visit the conference webpages under Events.
General Farm Questions: Currently we provide 1-on-1 technical assistance to beginning farmers and experienced farmers via phone and email. Contact one of our Education Coordinators if you have questions. You can call our tollfree help line at: 1-855-2-NOFA-NY (1-855-266-3269), you will then be prompted to choose a technical assistance specialist to speak with. The options are Fruit & Vegetable, Dairy & Livestock, Grains & Field Crops, and Beginning Farmers.
We also publish an Organic Farm Resource Guide to help connect farmers with suppliers and groups supporting local organic agriculture. This guide is available in hard copy at most field days and our conference, or online here.
You may also email our Education Coordinators for technical assistance at email@example.com
Our Technical Assistance Program is funded by the USDA Risk Management Agency.
