The Brady Farm is a 5.8 acre organic, not-for-profit farm in the heart of Syracuse, NY. The mission of the Brady Farm is to grow and sell affordable produce on the Southside of Syracuse, while providing job training and education to the community. The Brady Farm is a project of the Brady Faith Center, whose mission is to bring hope, healing and justice to the residents of the Southside of Syracuse through a variety of life-giving programs. The Brady Farm practices the ethos of the Brady Faith Center by fostering physical, mental and spiritual well-being through fellowship in the growing, selling, preparation and consuming of healthy food. The Brady Farm employs seasonal farm help, and relies heavily on volunteers to complete farm tasks throughout the year. The Brady Farm is committed to social justice, environmental sustainability, and sharing love through food.

Job Duties
The Community Outreach Coordinator’s (COC) primary role is to provide outreach in support of our Wellness Ambassador, volunteer service, and education programs. The COC will work directly under the supervision of the Farm Coordinator, and in collaboration with the Market Manager, Production Manager and other farm staff.
The COC is responsible for:
-Facilitating the Wellness Ambassador program by connecting Ambassadors to experienced professional mentors, supporting Ambassadors to recruit community members and host wellness events, and promote the Wellness program;
-Coordinating and hosting at least 6 on-farm community events from April - October;
-Creating marketing and outreach materials to promote the CSA and Farm stand sales, community events, and the nutrition ambassador program;
-Serving as primary contact for volunteers and group leaders wishing to volunteer or visit the farm;
-Supporting volunteer events and community tours at the farm;
-Updating the website and social media accounts;
-Work with local community organizations to donate excess produce;
-Foster positive relationships with other community groups and residents;
-And, support administrative duties such as farm planning, staff meetings, and reporting for the Farm and the Brady Faith Center.

The Community Outreach Coordinator position is a year-round position, requiring an average of 8 hours per week, with flexible hours. The pay is $17/hr.

-The right person must understand and embrace the mission of the Brady Farm as a non-profit seeking to serve the community, while also remaining financially sustainable;
-The right person must be open-minded, open-hearted, patient, willing to learn quickly, work independently as needed, and be flexible;
-21 years of age or older and able to legally drive a vehicle in NYS with a safe driving record;
-Familiarity and appreciation for eating locally grown produce;
-Have familiarity living and/or working in the Southside;
-Be able to communicate professionally with project partners, participants and customers in person, via email, and through social media;
-Have experience updating basic web-based platforms;
-Experience using excel or other software for tracking data;
-Experience creating outreach materials and promotional materials using Microsoft or Adobe programs;
-Be highly organized and able to work with a diverse set of team members to coordinate program activities;
-Be able to work occasional Saturdays and communicate outside of traditional work hours.
